Antique German Bisque Doll, Late 1800's

EXTREMELY RARE, Late 1800's Antique German Bisque Doll which stands approx. 5" tall. The limbs are jointed at the shoulder and hips, and a metal hook is attached to the top of the head (see attached) which may suggest a simple marionette type doll. The inside of the hat may be signed by the original owners and/or the makers of this doll.

The spirit that is attached to this treasured, notable family heirloom has been desrcibed as "a good, loving, sweet, protective entity". Before reaching us here in the states, this figure was handed down through generations because it was considered lucky. Its eyes look soft, and there is nothing malicious about the entity that is attached to this rare beautifully aged item.

The attachment will every so often move the limbs and/or knock the hat off its head, letting the owner know of its presence. We keep this tresure in a glass dome on a felt covered wooden base to help preserve this delicate item.
